Hmmm...it's been a while since I took Logic in college, but aren't you guilty of a "begging the question" logical fallacy yourself when you write, "...it cannot be denied that logic and philosophy stand to lose an important conceptual label..."? Maybe you're trying to be cute, but if you truly want to educate people, I don't think you should not include a logical fallacy without labeling it as such. Also, you write that "...the error has grown more and more ubiquitous with time..." Dictionary.com defines ubiquitous as "Being or seeming to be everywhere at the same time; omnipresent". How can something become more everywhere? It either is or it isn't everywhere at the same time.
